Sharing Backyards needs you!!

As our program is provided for all users for free, we need funds to meet our project goals. Our entire project, spanning across North America and beyond, ready to set up in new cities at a day's notice, requires substantial funding to continue this exciting work.

We are looking to partner with "niche" businesses, that is, those with similar values or scope as our own. This gives sponsoring businesses the added advantage of niche advertising within our system.

Currently, we're looking to foster business relationships with grocers, organics distributors, landscapers, community based businesses, restaurants, nurseries, garden centres, seed and tool suppliers, worm suppliers, composting, city councils, and socially responsible / ecologically sensible businesses of all sorts.

We also welcome city councils, business bureaus, unions, philanthropic organizations, community service clubs, or private citizens to sponsor our work in exchange for recognition and exposure in the community.

There are many types of businesses not listed here that would be a good match -- basically, if you support the work we do, why not support us financially? Our current budget between all 31 programs and over 200 cities is $1700 CAD -- for an entire year. Please help us stabilize our budget -- the continuation of our work depends on it.

How it Works:

There is an ad-space to the right side of each of our maps. There is a map for every municipality or incorporated area within a metropolitan area where we have a program running.

We have a two tiered system for selling these spaces.

Advertisers get a 330 pixel x 330 pixel ad to the right of the chosen city map. The ad will link to their website when clicked.

Sponsors get the same ad, along with mention and a link from our main page, www.sharingbackyards.com. Our main site gets an average of 100 unique visits a day, so those sponsoring us get a lot more exposure, and they get recognition for supporting the work we do.

Advertising rates are currently:

$30 / month per municipality for single listings
$25 / month per municipality for multiple listings

Sponsorship rates are currently (per municipality):
$50 / month for a Bronze Sponsor
$70 / month for a Silver Sponsor
$100 / month for a Gold Sponsor
$140+ / month for a Platinum Sponsor

We also have a space available on the pamphlet for each community to list one "Title Sponsor". This space is available for a contribution of $200 / month for a year or more. Pamphlets generally cover the entire metro area of a given area, thus granting major coverage to that sponsor. Title Sponsors will also be listed on our website with a link to their businesses.

It is our goal to create a symbiotic relationship with our sponsors -- that is, we work to increase your business as you support our work. For our sponsors, every additional viewing our website gets, the more publicity your business gets. We need your help, and in appreciation, we'll do our best to make you visible.
